Tapered Roller Bearings

With a higher load-carrying capacity, FAG tapered roller bearings are ideal for non-driven front- and rear-wheel applications. The inversely fit inner and outer rings can be disassembled easily for service and greasing. FAG is the original-equipment supplier of tapered roller bearings on the Kia Sedona.

Generation 1

First generation wheel bearings are used on many applications due to their compact and rugged design, featuring lifetime sealing and lubrication. FAG has developed angular contact bearings with lower load-carrying capacity at higher speeds for both front and rear wheels, ensuring optimum performance in the most demanding situations. FAG Generation 1 bearings are original equipment on many late model vehicles including the Ford Focus and Explorer, the BMW 3-Series and the Porsche Cayenne.

Generation 2

This compact, lightweight, maintenance-free unit combines the cost-effectiveness of a Generation 1 bearing with the convenience of an integral mounting flange. The FAG Generation 2 design features a factory-set preload and an innovative retaining ring that secures the bearing in the carrier and eliminates the need for a clamping unit. The orbital-formed shoulder precisely secures the roller paths in place to maximize bearing life. FAG Generation 2 bearings are original equipment on the Volkswagen Jetta and Passat and the BMW M5 and M6.

Generation 3

Vehicle manufacturers constantly strive to improve performance and handling, while reducing weight and complexity. Maintenance-free FAG Generation 3 wheel hubs combine all of these characteristics in a compact, easy-to-install, ABS-ready assembly. The unit features a factory-adjusted preload and optimally rigid double-flange design.
